We are looking for an experienced Linux Systems Engineer to install, operate, monitor, and support the systems and network for our growing web hosting services. You will be responsible for helping plan for and respond to issues, maintaining high volume hosted services. To achieve these goals, you will need a deep understanding of networks, operating systems, multi-tiered Internet services and an ability to seek out and resolve issues efficiently and effectively before they occur.
Requirements
Experience & requirements:
1 year experience supporting Linux systems in high volume, critical production service environments.
Experience implementing scalable network, database, and storage architectures.
Solid knowledge of advanced networking topics including isolating, diagnosing, and resolving issues with service delivery components and network devices (servers, routers, switches, bridges, firewalls,).
Thorough knowledge of Web and mail server administration & tuning.
Excellent SQL knowledge and database skills.
Efficient writing scripts to automate tasks and monitor systems.
Programming and troubleshooting skills in PHP a plus.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues under pressure.
